The short version
FanaticalLiveSwitcher does not collect, transmit, or sell your personal information. There is no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no account on our servers — because we don't run any. The only data that leaves your device is the live video and audio you choose to stream, sent directly to the destinations you configure (YouTube, Facebook, your own RTMP server, etc.).
This policy covers two things: the FanaticalLiveSwitcher iOS app, and the fanaticallive.com websiteyou're currently on. The app is most of what's below; the website section is at the bottom and is short, because the website is small.
Who runs this
FanaticalLiveSwitcher is built by Fanatical Live Development, LLC, a Washington limited liability company. It's a small operation — no investors, no big team. Questions about this policy can go to support@fanaticallive.com.
What the app does
FanaticalLiveSwitcher is a live production switcher that runs on your iPad. It pulls in video from cameras you own (via NDI, RTMP, SRT, RTSP, or ONVIF over your local network), mixes audio, color-corrects, and pushes the resulting broadcast out to streaming destinations you choose. The app runs entirely on your device. We do not run servers that your stream passes through.
Permissions the app asks for
iOS will prompt you for permission the first time the app needs each of these. You can review and revoke them at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security on your device.
- Local network — to discover and connect to cameras and NAS drives on the same Wi-Fi network as your iPad. Required for the core functionality of the app.
- Microphone — to mix in commentary or ambient audio with your video. Audio captured from the microphone is mixed into the broadcast you produce; it is not stored separately or sent anywhere except the streaming destinations you select.
- Photo Library — to import images and video clips you want to use in your broadcast (intros, replays, lower thirds). Only files you explicitly select are read by the app.
- Bluetooth — to use Bluetooth audio devices (headphones, mic adapters) during streaming.
What leaves your device
The only data the app transmits off your device is the live video, audio, and stream metadata you choose to broadcast, sent directly to the streaming destinations you configure. We do not see, store, or relay this data — it goes from your iPad to the destination's servers (e.g. YouTube's ingest endpoint) over the protocol you select (RTMP, SRT, NDI, AirPlay, HEVC, etc.).
When you connect a destination that requires authentication — for example, signing in to your YouTube channel to broadcast live — that authentication happens directly between your device and the provider. For YouTube Live, the app requests the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtubescope, which allows it to create, manage, and end live broadcasts on the channel on your behalf. The resulting access token is stored locally on your device (in iOS Keychain, via Google's Sign-In SDK) and used only to start and manage your streams. We never receive a copy.
Google API Services User Data Policy — Limited Use
The app's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. YouTube data accessed via OAuth is used solely to provide the live broadcasting and post-broadcast highlight features the user explicitly invokes inside the app. It is not used for serving advertisements, building user profiles, transferring to others, or training machine-learning models.
Streaming destinations are third parties
Each streaming destination you use has its own privacy policy and terms. The data you broadcast is governed by their policies once it leaves your device. The destinations the app currently integrates with directly include:
- YouTube Live — owned by Google. See policies.google.com/privacy.
- Facebook Live — owned by Meta. See facebook.com/privacy/policy.
- Custom RTMP / SRT / NDI / AirPlay — any destination URL you configure. Your stream is governed by whoever runs that endpoint.
What stays on your device
App settings, camera lists, destination configurations, replay clips, and any imported media are stored locally on your device. They are included in standard iOS device backups (iCloud Backup or local computer backup) if you have those enabled. We do not maintain a separate cloud copy.
Open-source components
The app uses these open-source libraries. None of them collect analytics or transmit data on their own:
- HaishinKit — RTMP/SRT/HLS streaming engine
- Logboard — local logging (used by HaishinKit)
- Box2DSwift — physics library
- swift-collections— Apple's data structure library
- Google Sign-In SDK (and its supporting libraries AppAuth, GTMSessionFetcher, GTMAppAuth, AppCheck, GoogleUtilities) — handles the YouTube OAuth flow and stores the access token in iOS Keychain on your device. Used only for the YouTube sign-in described above.
About this website
This privacy policy also covers the marketing and blog site at fanaticallive.com. The website is a much smaller surface than the app.
Server logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Workers. As part of normal web serving, Cloudflare records standard request data — your IP address, the page you requested, the time, and your browser's user agent — and uses it for security, abuse prevention, and basic operational metrics. We do not run any additional analytics on top of those logs and we do not export them to third parties. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for retention details.
No cookies, no analytics, no tracking
The site does not set any cookies. There are no analytics tools, advertising pixels, or social tracking embedded in any page.
Blog content delivery
Blog posts are stored in and served through Sanity, a third-party content management service. When you load a blog post, your browser fetches images and text directly from Sanity's CDN. Sanity may log standard web request data (IP address, user agent, URL) on their end. See their privacy policy for details.
External links
The community page displays posts pulled from r/FanaticalLiveSwitcheron Reddit, and posting, commenting, or upvoting opens Reddit directly. Once you click through to Reddit (or any other external link), that service has its own privacy policy and we don't see what happens after you leave.
No accounts on the website
There is no sign-up, login, or comment system on the website itself. The only authenticated route is /studio, which is the writing interface for blog posts and is restricted to me. If you visit /studiowithout an account, you will be redirected to Sanity's sign-in flow, and we will not see that visit.
Children
The app is designed for adults — coaches, broadcasters, and parents who want to stream youth sports and community events. The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.
If you stream events that include minors, you are the publisher of that footage. We do not see it or store it. You are responsible for ensuring you have the consent needed under your local laws and the policies of any organization you broadcast for (school districts, leagues, clubs).
Your rights
Because we don't collect personal information, there is no data on our side to access, correct, or delete. To remove all data the app has stored locally, delete the app from your device. To revoke permissions for streaming destinations, sign out from within the app or from the destination's own account settings.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top will change. For material changes, we'll post a notice on the blog at /blog before the changes take effect.
